"This is just a wonderful example of how our community pulls together no matter what," Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh said Wednesday. "We've been doing so for 23 weeks, and we will continue to do so for the foreseeable future no matter what the emergency is."
Arkoosh also reiterated that residents should contact their municipalities regarding any damage from the storm. Cataloging damages is vital in case the state or county get additional emergency funds to help recover from the storm, and can offer relief.
The storm left historic flooding across Montgomery County, with torrential rainfall and high winds destroying property, bringing down trees and wires, and leaving hundreds of thousands without power. At least one person died in the county due to the storm.
