The weekend is coming, and we've combed through our local calendar to pull out the best upcoming events

Where and When: Montgomery County Community College – West Campus, 101 College Drive, Pottstown; Feb. 17 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Why Go?: The dinner benefits the Cat Angel Network of Pottstown. Student leaders at MCCC will host the dinner in honor of Henry “Hank” Rymarowicz. The meal includes a choice of veggie or meat lasagna, bread, salad, beverage and dessert. Take-out meals are also available after 4:30 p.m.

Where and When: , 1330 Powell St., Norristown; Feb. 17 and 22, and every Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon.
Why go?: This exercise group meets twice a week.

Where and When: Montgomery County Community College, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell; Feb. 18, 8 p.m.
Why go: The performance features Spanish music and dance, including ballet and Flamenco, starring more than 40 dancers, singers, musicians and artists.
Price: $25 general admission, $20 students and seniors, $10 children, available online.
Where and When: Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library, 1001 Powell St., Norristown; Feb. 19, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Why go: Local author Tamara Rollins will be at the library to sign copies of her book, “Karma Always Catches Up with You.” A portion of book sales will benefit the library.

Where and When: Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library, 1001 Powell St., Norristown; Feb. 19, 11 a.m.
Why go?: Local favorites N-town Band will perform smooth jazz hits, and Jonathan Smith will present a poetry reading.
