It's a weekend for great performances with a concert, an arts festival, a little theater and plenty more.

Why go: Listen, sing along and dance to the oldies at the Patrician Society’s 10th annual Spring Concert. Light refreshments and snacks will be available, free of charge.

Where/When: Plymouth Meeting Friends School (PMFS), 2150 Butler Pike, Plymouth Meeting; May 6 to 7, 7 p.m.

Why go: The new musical, written by a PMFS theater arts teacher, is an adaptation and deconstruction of the classic Cinderella story. The sixth-grade musical is the culminating performance of the PMFS theater arts curriculum.

Price: $10

 

Second Annual Norristown Arts Hill Festival

Where/When: Main and DeKalb streets, Norristown; May 7, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why go: Come celebrate the Norristown Arts Hill's mission to bring a little cultre into our lives. Enjoy the daylong music, theater and dance performances, and art on display. There are plenty of activities for children and families to enjoy.

Where/When: Plymouth Meeting Friends School, 2150 Butler Pike, Plymouth Meeting; May 9, 2:30 to 8 p.m.

Why go: Appointments are preferred at this American Red Cross blood drive. Call 215-843-7391, or register online—enter sponsor code 12566.

Where/When: MontcoSAAC, 536 George St., Norristown; May 10, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Why go: Danielle Charry of The Lincoln Center will show you how to eat healthy, without sweating bullets in the kitchen. Take home some cool recipes!

Price: Free

 

Where/When: Church of the Nazarene, 3044 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown; May 11, 12:30 p.m.

Why go: The Norristown Garden Club will meet, just in time for gardening season!

Price: Annual dues are $25
