Luxury Apartments Moving Into Saved Historic Norristown Building
Luxury apartments, with space for a restaurant below, are coming to this renovated historic corner property in downtown Norristown.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Luxury apartments, with space for a restaurant below, are coming to a renovated and historic corner property in downtown Norristown.
The property on the corner of Dekalb and East Airy Street, which had been deteriorating from usage, fires, and age, was bought by neighboring law firm, High Swartz. High Swartz held onto it until they could find a developer that would maintain the historic character of the near century-old property.
They found a developer in Ian Truelove, a British native living in Warminster. Trulove worked with engineers and architects to develop the building in a way that would maintain its significance, both to the neighborhood and to the area's culture.

According to an account from High Swartz, the terra cotta roof coping tiles were saved, the Victorian stair rail was dismantled, refurbished, and reinstalled, and solid oak floors were put in, along with columns and trimwork.
The building now inclues four luxury apartments, and space for a restaurant on the ground floor with a basement beneath it.
