Montco Man Says Samsung Galaxy Phone Burned Hole Through Sofa: Report

A Montgomery County man said that a Samsung Galaxy S7 burned his stomach and then burned a hole through the sofa, a report states.

Jason Smith of Plymouth Meeting told 6ABC that he bought his phone just three months ago.

He said he was sleeping on the couch when he noticed the phone was burning his stomach, and said he suffered second degree burns, the report states.

Samsung had to recall 2.5 million of their phones last year after something caused them to randomly explode.

Samsung said they are investigating Smith's case.
