MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A Royersford woman and educator for children with special needs has been arrested after defrauding insurance companies of more than $35,000, authorities said.

Alexandria Lucas, 45, was employed as a behavior analyst for Exceptional Learning LLC, an education organization in Schwenksville.

While there, Lucas worked with children and families with developmental, educational, and behavioral concerns in the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit and various local school districts.

However, at some point she began forging records, filing paperwork that claimed she met with families and provided lessons, when she never had, police said. In turn, she was paid for the fake lessons, ultimately defrauding insurance companies of a total of $35,037.74.

"It was established that Lucas’s fraudulent activities caused harm to the children and families involved in her deception," Lower Frederick Police said in a release.
