Norristown Announces Comprehensive 'Traffic Control Plan' For Papal Weekend
The information is vital for anyone traveling from or passing near the Norristown area.

Norristown has released a comprehensive plan for managing traffic and organizing the borough in preparation for the mass influx of visitors during the weekend of the Papal visit.
The Norristown Transportation Center will be one of only 18 SEPTA stations operating over the weekend. Only customers that purchased a special Regional Rail ”Pope Pass” with Norristown Transportation Center stamped on the back will be able to travel from the Center.
Bikes and chairs will not be permitted on trains.

Service from Norristown will operate from 5:30 a.m. until noon. There will be two “travel time slots” of 5:30 to 8:30 and 8:30 to noon.
Riders will be grouped into time slots based on when they arrive at the station. Staging zones will be set up to manage the waiting crowds, and there will be signs that indicate how long it will be to get to center city.

Return service to Norristown from Philadelphia will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the last train will depart center city at 12:30 a.m.
