Norristown Commits To 100 Percent Clean Energy
Norristown has become just the 116th municipality in the nation to pass a similar resolution.

NORRISTOWN, PA — The Norristown Municipal Council approved a measure Tuesday to transition the community to 100 percent clean energy by 2050.
Norristown joins nearby Phoenixville, which became the first Pennsylvania municipality to make a similar committment back in Sept. 2017. The resolution calls for Norristown to seek out renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and small scale hydro power.
“This is a watershed moment for Norristown and the entire region, as more and more communities recognize the need to work together for a more sustainable future,” Norristown’s Municipal Administrator Crandall Jones said in a statement.
