Norristown Municipal Hall To Reopen Tuesday After Flooding
The building was flooded by a burst pipe over the weekend, one of many issues of "aging infrastructure," the municipality said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Norristown's Municipal Hall will reopen on Tuesday after being shut down Monday due to a burst pipe over the weekend.
The pipe caused notable flooding damage to the building. The burst pipe was a consequence of the building's "aging infrastructure," the municipality said in a statement.
The flooding impacted the police department, finance department, and the main lobby.

A $13 million renovation program to the facility will get underway this winter. Municipal offices will be move to Logan Commerce Center for an 18 month period while construction is underway.
“The Municipal Hall's HVAC, water, sewer, electrical and wiring infrastructure have been outdated and failing for years,” Municipal Administrator Crandall Jones said Monday. “The Municipal Council took appropriate and much-needed action last November in approving the renovation project for the health and safety of employees and visitors to the Hall.”

Officials said it's the third time in less than a year a burst pipe has impacted Municipal Hall operations.
The facility will open for normal business hours on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
