
J. Earl Jaggers, of Exeter, a former resident of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2015. He was 85 years old.
Born November 14, 1930, in Norristown, he was the son of the late John Earl and Sarah (née Clarkson) Jaggers and the beloved husband of the late Margaret “Peg” (née Hopkins) Jaggers.

Earl was a Veteran of the U.S. Army-Air Corps and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.
He retired from the Norristown Police force after 27 years of service with the rank of Lieutenant in 1985. He was a member and Former President of F.O.P. Lodge 31. Earl then worked for GE/Lockheed Martin until 1995 in Security.

Earl was a very devout Catholic and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered as a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
Earl is survived by his two sons, Richard J. and his wife, Carol Jaggers and John E. and his wife, Virginia (Lauderman) Jaggers; six grandchildren: Roni Mercedes, Mary Margaret, Katherine Anne, John Michael, Sarah Jean and Grace Isabella; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Makayla Jaggers; brother, Charles Jaggers (Joan); three sisters: Eileen Bernstiel (Ralph), Delia Wadsworth (the late Charles), Lorraine McKay (the late Hugh); two sisters-in-law, Elsie and Eleanor Jaggers; and a brother-in-law, Jack Hopkins (Rose).
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ronald R. and Gerald L. Jaggers.
Relatives and friends are invited to share in Earl’s Life Celebration on Thursday, December 17, from 7 to 9 p.m.; and on Friday, from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m., at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, at 10:30 a.m., at Visitation BVM Church on Trooper Rd. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park in Plymouth Meeting.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Earl’s name can be made to the Catholic Charities of Allentown Diocese.
