Norristown Wins National Award For Budget Presentation

NORRISTOWN, PA — Norristown has been recognized by a national organization for excellence in budget presentation.

The award is given by the Government Finance Officers Association, which aims to support "excellence in government finance" through the promotion of best practices and advanced research.

Specifically, in order to receive the award, Norristown had to rate as "proficient" in four key categories which analyzed how well their budget operated as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.

There are also fourteen criteria within those divisions which had to be rated as "proficient" as well in order to receive the award.

Some 1,600 municipalities have been recognized by the Association.
