Norristown's Valerie Scott Cooper Re-Elected To National Board
Councilwoman Valerie Scoot Cooper will serve another term on the National League of Cities board of directors.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Norristown Councilwoman Valerie Scott Cooper has been re-elected to a position on the National League of Cities (NLC) board of directors, the organization announced on Wednesday.
During Cooper's two-year term, she'll have the chance to provide "strategic direction and guidance" to the NLC, an organization which advocates for city issues and measures in Washington D.C.
"NLC is a champion in providing the necessary tools for local elected officials to perform our day to day services for our constituents by creating a forum of connectivity with other local leaders throughout the county," Cooper said in a statement. "Being a member of NLC helps us stay informed of innovative ideas and solutions to our issues that are relevant to us in Norristown, as well as by networking with other leaders across the country."

Cooper will meet with the board in March, June, and November of each year to help marshal the future of the NLC.
The NLC works to create strong federal-local partnerships on numerous issues, including housing, transportation, safety, education, and more.

Board members are selected by a 15-person nominating committee and confirmed by a vote from NLC's membership at large.
