Nurses, Staff Picketing Eagleville Hospital; Claim Unfair, Unsafe Conditions
A nurses and health professionals union will picket Eagleville Hospital on Tuesday, saying they need more support to treat addiction victims

Eagleville, PA — Nurses, nursing Assistants, mental health technicians, and unit assistants are set to engage in informational picketing at Eagleville Hospital on Tuesday, June 21, they announced in a press release.
Nurses and professional staff at Eagleville say they are responsible for treating the victims of addiction, and are not receiving the support they need to do so, the release states.
"(We) have continually faced a management team that is unwilling to address their serious concerns regarding staffing, work conditions, and drastically unfair wage and benefit structures," the union said in a press release.

The picketing on Tuesday is aimed at protesting what they see as unacceptable proposals and unsafe and unfair conditions.
Nurses and professional staff at Eagleville Hospital are members of PASNAP, the Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses & Allied Professionals, which represents 8,000 healthcare professionals throughout the state.

The union says that staffing is the main concern as nurses are coping with drug use on their units and a patient population that they say needs more care and attention.
Picketing will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and then from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
