'Protestors’ Rights And Rally' To Be Held In Norristown
The event is specifically aimed at protesting police brutality and supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, organizers said.
NORRISTOWN, PA — An event protesting police brutality and supporting the Black Lives Matter movement will take place in Norristown this coming weekend.
The Protestors' Rights and Networking Rally will be held on the Montgomery County Courthouse steps on Sunday, Aug. 16 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Organizers are looking to gather activist leaders from around Montgomery County to speak at the event in an effort to "harness the momentum so many have propelled in the pursuit of anti-racism."

"Speakers from various local activism groups and organizations will provide insight on the work they are doing and how YOU can help," writes Sefi Schiller, the event organizer, with the group Montco Activists United. "Let's take this opportunity to come together and empower one another in our efforts towards true equality and human rights in our country."

In addition to a number of speakers, attendees are encouraged to bring tables and literature in order to engage participants in their respective organizations and movements.
"We hope that this demonstration will provide a great opportunity to further connect in person that we may go into the fall season ready to continue our missions," Schiller added.
Speakers include representatives from PA Women Rise, Lansdale Equality Coalition, PEACE WAR, United Men of Color Association, and Montco Moms for Social Justice.
All participants are reminded to wear masks and practice social distancing.
