SEPTA Expands Service For Event-Filled Weekend
Bus routes will be altered and regional rail service will be expanded for service to the Penn Relays, PIFA and the Broad Street Run.

According to a release issued by SEPTA, the regional rail will run on an adjusted
service schedule to accommodate several major events taking place this weekend.
SEPTA has dozens of bus detours and service enhancements scheduled for the Penn Relays, the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA) and the Broad Street Run.
For the PIFA event, portions of Broad Street in Center City will be closed from early Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. This will force detours on SEPTA bus routes 9, 12, 21, 27, 32, 42 and C, and Broad Street Line Night Owl buses.
A few hours after the PIFA-related closures are cleared early Sunday, most of Broad Street will shut down to vehicle traffic for the Broad Street Run. Starting at approximately 8 a.m. Sunday through the end of the race, SEPTA will have detours in place for bus routes 3, 7, 9, 12, 17, 21, 23, 27, 31, 32, 33, 37, 39, 40, 42, 43, 44, 48, 53, 54, 56, 60, 61, 64, 68, 75, 124, 125, C, G, J, H, XH and R. There could also be a detour for the Route 15 trolley, which may operate with buses during the race.
SEPTA will have extra Broad Street Line trains ready to be deployed as needed
to accommodate runners and fans.
SEPTA is also bolstering Regional Rail service over the weekend to help people get to and from all events. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be extra rail cars on most regularly scheduled trips, providing plenty of room for riders heading to the Penn Relays, the PIFA street fair and the Broad Street Run.
SEPTA launched a new section on its website with event travel details and information about how to navigate around street closures and detours. Riders can also talk to SEPTA Customer Service representatives by calling 215-580-7800.
