MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The incoming Tropical Storm Isaias led Montgomery County officials to shut down all coronavirus testing sites Tuesday, Aug. 4, they announced Monday afternoon.
Many sites have significant outdoor infrastructure that is sensitive to severe weather. The sites have been shut down on a few occasions over the summer due to heavy rains, extreme winds, and heat.
The sites are tentatively scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Forecasters say Philadelphia and its suburbs can expect as much as 6 inches of rain in a "short period of time" due to Isaias.
There is the potential for a major flooding rain and evacuations and rescues are likely, the weather service said.

Tropical storm-force winds and some rain likely will arrive by daybreak on Tuesday. Expect winds of 40 to 50 mph with gusts to 70 mph from Tuesday morning until Tuesday afternoon. For details see here.
