String Of Violent Robberies In Norristown, 1 Suspect Sought: Cops

Police believe the same man is responsible for a series of violent robberies in Norristown in recent days.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Police have increased patrols in Norristown after a series of violent robberies in Norristown in recent days.

A string of five incidents have occurred around Norristown since Dec. 1. Police believe the same man is responsible.

In each case, the victim was a woman who was grabbed from behind and robbed by the male suspect, according to authorities.

The suspect was described by authorities as a "serial violent offender." Although no victims have suffered serious physical injuries, police believe the suspect may escalate his behavior if he is not caught soon.

  • Dec. 1: 4 a.m., W. Airy Street and Haws Avenue
  • Dec. 1: 7 a.m., Stanbridge Street and Haws Alley
  • Dec. 2: 7 a.m., 500 block of Haws Alley
  • Dec. 2: 7:45 p.m., Fornance Alley and W. Marshall Street
  • Dec. 8: 6:30 p.m., 700 block of Noble Street

The suspect is a black male, with light to medium complexion, standing about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium to heavy build. He may have facial hair.
