A murder investigation has been launched following the slaying of a teen in Norristown this weekend.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A murder investigation has been launched following the slaying of a teen in Norristown this weekend.

Desmond Zaire Johnson, 19, has been identified as the victim of the killing, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced Monday.

Police arrived on the 300 block of Carson Alley at around 12:22 a.m. Sunday morning after there was a report of gunshots in the area.

Johnson was found dead on the scene, authorities said.

An autopsy by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office revealed the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest.
