Police Search Schuylkill River After Man Jumps In Norristown
A water rescue was underway in the Schuylkill River near Norristown Wednesday evening.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Rescuers scoured the Schuylkill River for a man near Norristown Wednesday evening, June 19, to no avail.
The incident occurred at around 5:33 p.m. at the DeKalb Street bridge.
According to scanner reports, one individual jumped into the river.

Crews from several nearby municipalities responders on the scene. Dive teams and river rescue teams were among the responders who helped search.
The bridge was closed as the search continued, leading to backups on nearby roads.

The man was not found. It is not known why he jumped into the water.
