Whitehall Elementary Receives Grant to Develop Cultural Programs
The $7,000 grant from Target is being administered by Young Audiences of New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.
Whitehall Elementary School recently received a $7,000 grant to develop additional arts and cultural workshops for students of the school.
“The grant is funded through Target and Young Audiences of New Jersey and (Eastern) Pennsylvania,” said music teacher Rosalie Hetrick. “Young Audiences has a portfolio of performers you can seek out for assembly programs. In these times of budget cuts, we have not had a lot of quality assembly programs. When I saw the grant was up for grabs, I asked my principal if she would author it with me.”
Whitehall applied for the grant in September and received notification that it was a finalist in October. There were approximately 120 applicants for the grant, but only seven recipients, according to Hetrick. The grant is being administered by Young Audiences.
