Update: Flood Watch now Flood Warning for North Allegheny Communities.

The national weather service has issued a flood warning for the North Allegheny communities until 11:45 a.m. Tuesday. Forecasters say the heaviest rain and wind will occur between 8 p.m. tonight to 8 a.m. tomorrow. A high wind warning is also in effect Monday night through Noon Tuesday.

Latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

• Tonight: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 40. Windy, with a northwest wind 29 to 33 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

• Tuesday: Rain. High near 47. Windy, with a north wind 21 to 26 mph decreasing to 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
• Tuesday Night: Rain. Low around 39. North wind 6 to 9 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Wednesday: Rain. High near 44. West wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Wednesday Night: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 39. West wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

A flood warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported. Stream rises will be significant. 

High Wind Warning 

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning means that sustained winds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph are expected. Wind of this magnitude can down trees...damage property and make driving difficult.

Lightweight objects such as trash cans, deck furniture and Halloween decorations should be secured. Use extreme caution while driving, especially when crossing bridges and overpasses.
