10 Accidents Reported In Northampton Township
Northampton Township Police released its blotter of criminal incidents for Feb. 5-12.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The Northampton Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents from Feb. 5 to Feb. 11, which included reports of 10 accidents.
During the tour, Patrol handled 11 Alarm Calls; 5 Abandoned 911 Calls; 37 Medical Emergencies; 7 Bookings; 6 Domestic Disputes; 10 Civil Disputes; 71 Traffic Monitoring Details, and three Crime Prevention Details.

02-05-24
Traffic Accident (Deer Involved) —Patrol responded to the 300blk of Newtown-Richboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling eastbound on Newtown-Richboro Road when a deer ran into the roadway. As a result, contact was made. A tow was not required.

Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 800 block of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Once on location, it was found that two vehicles made contact with each other while being operated in the parking lot. A tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 900blk of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was entering 2nd Street Pike from a shopping center when it made contact with unit # 2 which was traveling southbound on 2nd Street Pike. A tow was required.

Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the intersection of Buck Road and East Holland Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling northbound on Buck Road when it disregarded a red traffic signal. As a result, unit # 1 made contact with unit # 2 which was traveling westbound through the intersection with a green traffic signal. A tow as required.
Vehicle Lockout —Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 200 block of Jacksonville Road for a vehicle lockout. Once on location, contact was made with the vehicle owner. Using lockout tools, patrol was able to gain entry.

Suspicious Vehicle —At 1:50 a.m., patrol observed a pickup truck stopped in front of the store in front of a shopping center located on 2nd Street Pike. An individual was inside and appeared to be sleeping. Contact was made and everything with this individual was ok.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the intersection of East Holland Road and Holland Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was on East Holland Road at the stop sign when it was struck from behind by unit # 1. A tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the intersection of Buck Road and East Holland Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling southbound on Buck Road and was attempting to make a left turn. While making the turn, unit # 1 made contact with Unit # 2 which was traveling northbound on Buck Road. A tow was not required.

Information Reported —The complainant reported that they received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Amazon. The individual asked the complainant for personal information and they believed the phone call was a scam. Information was gathered.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to Churchville Lane, near Nelson Drive for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was stopped northbound on Churchville Lane when they were struck from behind by unit # 1. A tow was required.
Disabled Vehicle —Patrol observed a disabled vehicle on Newtown-Richboro Road at Chestnut Drive. The vehicle ran out of gas. Patrol stood by with the motorist until gas was able to be added and the vehicle was able to be driven away.

Fire —Patrol responded to the area of Jacksonville Road for a vehicle fire. Once on location, the vehicle fire was located. The Northampton Township Fire Department arrived on scene and the incident was turned over.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the intersection of 2nd Street Pike and Tanyard Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was traveling on 2nd Street Pike and was stopped for a red traffic signal at Tanyard Road. While stopped, unit # 2 was struck by unit # 1 from behind which also was traveling in the same direction on 2nd Street Pike. A tow was not required.
Fraud —The complainant reports receiving an email that there was an inquiry on their credit. When checking, the complainant found that an unknown person attempted to use their information to obtain a loan. Information was gathered.
Hazardous Condition —Patrol responded to the area of Highpoint Drive for the report of a propane leak. Northampton Township Fire Department also responded. The source of the leak was found and the incident was turned over to the fire department.
Traffic Accident (DUI Arrest) —Patrol responded to the area of East Bristol Road and Churchville Lane for a traffic accident. Once on location, contact was made with unit # 2 which had been struck from behind while stopped for a red traffic signal. Unit # 1 had struck unit # 2 and fled the area. Patrol checked the area and located unit # 1. Through investigation, the driver of unit # 1 was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. A tow as required.

Traffic Accident (Property Damage) —Patrol responded to the area of American Drive for a mailbox that was struck sometime overnight. Once on location, contact was made with the property owner. Patrol checked the area and located the striking vehicle. Information was gathered.
Criminal Mischief —Patrol responded to Frog Hollow Road for the report of criminal mischief. The property owner reported that sometime overnight, an unknown individual damaged their mailbox. Information was gathered.
Road / Traffic Hazard —Patrol responded to the area of West Bristol Road and Jacksonville Road for the report of a branch in the roadway. Once on location, the branch was located and removed from the road.

DUI Arrest —While in the area of East Bristol Road and Bustleton Pike, patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple vehicle code violations. Through investigation, the driver was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and /or drugs.
Investigation of an Open Gate —Patrol responded to a construction site off Upper Holland Road for a gate that was open. The area was checked and everything appeared ok.
