20 Traffic Accidents Reported In Northampton Township
The Northampton Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the period of Dec. 11 to Dec. 17.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The Northampton Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents from Dec. 11 to Dec. 17, which included 20 traffic accidents over that period.
During this tour, Patrol handled 17 Alarm Calls; 8 Abandoned 911 Calls; 41 Medical Emergencies; 12 Bookings; 9 Domestic Disputes; 5 Civil Disputes; 51 Traffic Monitoring Details and 17 Crime Prevention Details.

Dec. 11
Wires / Pole Down —Patrol responded to the area of Churchville Lane for pole wires down. On scene, PECO was on location working in the area. There was a telephone pole leaning into the roadway which caused a hazard. The roadway was closed while PECO worked in the area. Once completed, the roadway was opened.

Hazardous Condition —Patrol responded to the 1000blk of East Holland Road for a large tree that was on the roadway. Once on scene, patrol located the large tree. Northampton Township Public Works responded and cleared the roadway.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Holland Road and Churchville Lane for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling northbound on Holland Road when it made a left turn onto Churchville Lane. While doing so, contact was made with unit # 2 which was traveling southbound on Holland Road. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Traffic Accident (Deer Involved) —Patrol responded to the area of East Bristol Road and Newtown Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling westbound on East Bristol Road when a deer jumped into the roadway. As a result, contact was made. A tow was not required for unit # 1.
Dec. 12
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Bridgetown Pike and Langhorne Avenue for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling southbound on Bridgetown Pike attempting to navigate a curve. Unit # 1 lost control due to ice and struck the bridge. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Buck Road and West Village Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling east on West Village Road when they made a left turn onto northbound Buck Road with a green traffic signal. In doing so, unit # 1 struck two pedestrians. Unit # 1 was towed from the scene.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of West Bristol Road and Orion Drive for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was traveling westbound on West Bristol Road when it came to a stop. Unit # 1 was following unit # 2 and struck them from behind. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to 95 Almshouse Road for a traffic accident. Both unit # 1 and unit # 2 were traveling westbound on Almshouse Road when the accident occurred. Both vehicles were merging when contact was made. A tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of West Bristol Road and Ivygreen Run for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was on Ivygreen Run and attempting to make a turn onto West Bristol Road. While turning, unit # 1 struck unit # 2 which was turning from West Bristol Road onto Ivygreen Run. A tow was not required.
DUI Arrest —Patrol responded to the area of Upper Holland Road and Township Road for a speeding, reckless driver. Once on scene, vehicle was located and a traffic stop was initiated. Through investigation, the driver was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Dec. 13
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of West Bristol Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was stopped in the westbound Bristol Road traffic when it was struck from behind by unit # 1. Unit # 1 was traveling in the same direction as unit # 2 when the accident occurred. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Suspicious Incident —Patrol responded to the 700blk on Newtown-Richboro Road for a suspicious incident. The complainant reports finding two plastic bottles near their home well’s cap. The incident was documented.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the intersection of West Bristol Road and Hatboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was stopped on West Bristol Road for the traffic signal. While stopped, unit # 1 struck the rear of unit # 2. A tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 800blk of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was exiting a driveway onto 2nd Street Pike. While doing so, unit # 1 struck unit # 2 which was traveling southbound on 2nd Street Pike. A tow was not required.
Fraud/Scam —The complainant reports that their computer was operating slowly and had looked up a phone number for Greek Squad. The complainant contacted the phone number and gave remote access to their computer. While on the phone, the individual requested gift cards for payment. The complainant realized it was a scam and no gift cards were purchased.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Middle Holland Road and Buck Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling eastbound on Middle Holland Road and was going to make a left turn onto northbound Buck Road. While making the turn, unit # 1 made contact with unit # 2 which was traveling westbound on Stoneyford Road and crossing over Buck Road. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Dec. 14
Suspicious Person —Patrol responded to the area of Cynthia Drive for a suspicious person. The complainant reports seeing an unknown individual inside their vehicle while they were inside their home. The complainant went outside and the unknown individual exited the complainant’s vehicle and ran towards a car that was parked on the street. The unknown male and vehicle left the area. The area was checked.
Suspicious Incident —Patrol responded to the area of Cloverly Drive for a suspicious incident. The complainant reports seeing a male walking down the street appearing to look into car windows. The area was checked.
Fraud —The complainant reports purchasing equipment and wiring money to the seller. The complainant never received the equipment and believed the incident was a scam. Information forwarded to detectives.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 1000blk of Newtown-Richboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was traveling westbound on Newtown-Richboro Road when it had stopped for traffic. Unit # 1 which was traveling the same direction then struck the rear of unit # 2. A tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the intersection of 2nd Street Pike and Sackettsford Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was on Sackettsford Road and attempting to make a left turn onto 2nd Street Pike. While making the turn, unit # 1 made contact with unit # 2 which was traveling southbound on 2nd Street Pike. A tow was not required.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 800blk of Newtown-Richboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was traveling westbound on Newtown-Richboro Road and was stopped in traffic. While stopped, unit # 2 was struck by unit # 1 which was traveling in the same direction. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Hatboro Road and Tanyard Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was on Hatboro Road and turning right onto Tanyard Road when it made contact with unit # 2 which was traveling on Tanyard Road making a left turn onto Hatboro Road. A tow was not required.
Dec. 15
Suspicious Person —Patrol observed an individual at 1:05 a.m. walking in the area of Middle Holland Road and Rock Way. Contact was made with the individual who was identified. Everything was ok with the individual and there was no criminal activity in the area.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 200blk of Middle Holland Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was driving through the area when the trailer struck an overhang. Information was gathered and a tow was not required.
Found Animal (Dog) —Patrol responded to the area of Jasons Way for a found dog. Police were able to locate the owner. The dog was returned.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the area of Upper Holland Road and Bustleton Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 2 was stopped in traffic on Upper Holland Road at Bustleton Pike. While stopped, unit # 2 was struck from behind by unit # 1 which was traveling in the same direction.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the intersection of Buck Road and Chinquapin Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling on Chinquapin Road and had stopped at the stop sign at Buck Road. While entering Buck Road, unit # 1 made contact with unit # 2 which was traveling on Buck Road. No tow was required.
Suspicious Incident —Patrol responded to the 300 block of Hatboro Road for a suspicious incident. The complainant reports seeing lights going on and off inside a house that was being built. It was nighttime and there were no vehicles in the driveway. Patrol checked and came into contact with a contractor who was working late.
Dec. 16
Fires —Patrol responded to a facility in the 1400 block of Old Jordan Road for a fire. Once on location, it was found that there was a faulty sprinkler motor that caused a smoke condition. The incident was turned over to the Northampton Township Fire Department.
Fires —Patrol responded to Upland Drive for a fire. Once on location, it was found that the item being cooked inside the oven caused a fire/smoke condition. Northampton Fire Department ventilated the home and made it safe.
Dec. 17
Investigation of Open Doors —While checking the area of Orthodox Drive at 1:55 a.m., patrol observed an open passenger side door to a vehicle parked. After investigation, it was found that the vehicle’s door had been left open and no crime had been committed.
Traffic Accident (Hit and Run) —Patrol responded to the area of Almshouse Road and Jacksonville Road for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling westbound on Almshouse Road and made a left turn onto Jacksonville Road. While doing so, contact was made with unit # 2 which was traveling eastbound on Almshouse Road. Unit # 1 left the scene. Unit # 1 is described as a white Jeep Wrangler with rear passenger side damage.
Traffic Accident —Patrol responded to the 500 block of Bustleton Pike for a traffic accident. Unit # 1 was traveling southbound on Bustleton Pike when they slid off from the roadway and into landscape rocks. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
