Buck Road Bridge Set To Reopen Friday In Northampton Twp.

While the bridge will reopen to traffic, there may still be periodic lane closures as the final stages of work continue.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Buck Road Bridge on Route 532 in Northampton Township is set to reopen on Friday, Jan. 23, as major work continues on the Buck Road Water and Sewer Main Relocation Project, which is one part of PennDOT's Buck Road Bridge replacement project.

“Reopening the Buck Road Bridge is an important milestone for both the project and the community,” said Mike Sullivan, executive director of Northampton, Bucks County Municipal Authority. “We appreciate the patience shown by residents, businesses and motorists as this complex work continues. These improvements are critical to maintaining reliable water and sewer infrastructure for the area, and we are now moving into the final stages of construction.”

According to authority, construction crews have successfully completed a down-the-hole horizontal hammer boring operation. With this phase finished, open-cut installation of the sewer main is expected to begin shortly, which will complete the redirection of the sanitary sewer flow in the project area. The launching pit is currently being backfilled, allowing roadway restoration efforts to move forward and enabling the reopening of the bridge.
