Come to Northampton's Flag Day event, June 14th 7:00PM

A while back I advised of the Flag Day Ceremony that Northampton Township will hold on Saturday, June 14th, 7:00PM at the Northampton Township Municipal Park located off Hatboro Rd, Churchville. The deadline for collection in advance of your tattered flags was June 1st, but you may also take them with you for disposal at the ceremony.

The flags will be disposed of and burned by Boy Scout Troops #5 based in Churchville. The program will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. with opening remarks followed by posting of the colors by the Color Guard from the Marine Corps League’s Patriot Detachment #1230 Richboro, singing of the National Anthem and other patriotic songs by the BucksMont Squires of Song, and the Pledge of Allegiance. Following a keynote address by Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick and comments by State Senator Tommy Tomlinson, State Representative Scott Petri and Bucks County Commissioner Chairman Rob Loughery the Scouts will begin the burning ceremony until its conclusion. A token of appreciation for attending will be provided compliments of Lynne Kelleher (flags) and Gasper Landscaping (potted plants).

I hope that many of you will take the time to come out to this fantastic event. The weather should be nice according to the 7 day forecast.
