DEP To Hold Nov. 18 Hearing On RACT III Title V Air Quality Permit For Lehigh Heavy Forge Corp In Bethlehem, Northampton County (blogspot.com) — Residents of Northampton County will soon have a chance to weigh in on an air quality permit for Lehigh Heavy Forge in Bethlehem, with a DEP hearing set for November 18 in Wilkes-Barre. You can register to speak or submit written comments through late November, and all permit documents are available electronically for public review.

Monarchs and blue jays counted in large numbers migrating south (lehighvalleylive.com) — From a porch in southern Northampton County below Easton, a local naturalist describes subtle early fall color, late-migrating hummingbirds, and monarch butterflies still passing through. Northampton has dominated on the road, scoring 41 goals in eight away games, and now looks ahead to Monday's matchup against William Allen, where they hold a big state ranking advantage.
   

4. 7 Pennsylvania counties return to normal drought status (lehighvalleylive.com) — Water conditions have improved enough that Northampton County has been moved back to normal drought status, easing earlier concerns about local supplies. However, some water systems in Northampton and other counties still face mandatory or voluntary conservation, so residents are urged to follow their supplier's guidance and keep up simple water-saving habits at home.
