BucksMont Organic Gardeners (BMOG) is a growing group of individuals who are interested in learning and practicing organic gardening methods, without the use of unnatural fertilizers and pesticides. The underlying philosophy is practicing healthy, sustainable gardening practices with the preservation of the land and the elimination of detrimental effects on future generations and the environment.
The group was early to embrace the 'green' movement. It began meeting in January 1996 with the goal to assist and educate anyone interested in the natural health of themselves and the planet. BMOG offers lectures, presentations, and group discussions. Special events include garden tours during the summer, a members-only plant swap in the spring, and an annual potluck harvest dinner in the fall.
How does one become a member of BucksMont Organic Gardeners? BMOG meets every month on the Second Monday of each month at 7:15pm at the Churchville Nature Center. Just come to a meeting; you will be warmly welcomed by fellow gardeners. Programs always include a time for fellowship and snacks.
