U.S. Mail Reported Stolen From Numerous Homes In Northampton: Police
Police said residents should not put checks, cash, or anything of monetary value in their mailboxes or the blue Postal Mailboxes.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Suspect(s) in a black Mercedes with a stolen Pennsylvania TAG stole mail out of numerous mailboxes throughout the township on Thursday.
Police said they recovered some open envelopes without any mail inside. Typically the suspect(s) are looking for money, gift cards or checks (so they can wash them, alter them, and then cash them), police said.
The thefts occurred between 10 and 11:15 a.m. on the following streets: Stallion Circle, Dalton Way, Steeplechase Dr., Dutch Dr., Woodland Dr., Bobbie Dr., Foxcroft Dr., Watergate Dr., and Vermeer Dr.

“Please check your cameras if you live in those areas during the time frame provided,” police said. "If you have any information, contact Detective Jumper at 215-322-6111 ext. 81 or email Rjumper@nhtwp.org."
Residents should not put checks, cash or anything of monetary value in their mailbox or the blue Postal Mailboxes. They should only be mailed at the post office.

“These types of theft have been ongoing for quite some time now and there have been many victims in our township,” police said.
