• Northampton to decide on future of health board, celebrates community grants (homenewspa.com) — Northampton Borough Council is moving toward dissolving its local Board of Health and shifting inspections and public‑health oversight to state agencies at the end of 2026, a change that could affect local businesses and events like the Uptown Street Fair. Council members also celebrated strong attendance at the recent fair and announced state‑backed grants for a new police cruiser and long‑sought street sweeper.

• ARREST: Herrera-Arostegui, Marleni - (18) 3921 (A) THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING (M1) (1 (crimewatch.net) — Two people were arrested in Palmer Township after an officer spotted them allegedly stealing used cooking oil from behind the 25th Street Shopping Center. Both suspects were processed by township police and are now being held at Northampton County Prison on $20,000 bail each, tying the case directly to the county that includes Northampton.
