Police Investigating 'Blown Up' Mailbox In Northampton Twp.
Northampton Township Police said the incident happened early New Year's Day. Police are asking the public to check their security cameras.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The Northampton Township Police Department is investigating an incident in which a resident reported that their parents' mailbox was blown up early on New Year's Day.
Northampton Township Police said they responded to a residence on Sackettsford Road for a report of criminal mischief that occurred sometime overnight.
The resident reported that an unknown subject blew up his parents' mailbox, most likely using fireworks. There was no one home at the time of the incident.

A neighbor reported hearing a pop and then a bang around 3-3:30 in the morning.
Residents in the area should check their cameras for any suspicious activity in the area of the 600 block of Sackettsford Road from 3-3:30 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Police are asking residents that if they see something or someone acting suspicious to contact 911 immediately, so police can respond and investigate.
