Police Make DUI Arrest, Investigate Accidents, Fraud In Northampton

The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Sept. 9 and 15.

RICHBORO, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Sept. 9 and Sept. 15.

During this tour, the patrol handled 18 alarm calls, 15 abandoned 911 calls, 55 medical emergencies, 10 bookings, nine domestic disputes, six civil disputes, 75 traffic monitoring details and 13 crime prevention details.

September 9

  • Solicitor Complaint -Patrol responded to the area of Cherry Blossom Drive for a solicitor complaint. Once on location, contact was made with an individual soliciting in the area without a permit. They were given information on applying for a permit and reported that they would cease soliciting.

September 10

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the 500 block of Jacksonville Road for the report of a traffic accident. Unit 2 was traveling northbound on Jacksonville Road when unit 1 entered the roadway from a driveway. As a result, unit 1 and unit 2 made contact. A tow was required.
  • Found Property - Complainant found property while walking on Independence Drive and contacted police. Patrol was able to locate the owner and the property was returned.
  • Theft/Fraud - A complainant reported mailing a check from their home in Holland in August. Upon checking, they found that the check never made it to its destination and there were unauthorized charges on their bank account. Information was gathered and this case was forwarded to Detectives.
  • Scam - A complainant reported receiving an email indicating that they had their internet browsing history and that if they didn’t pay money, they would broadcast their information to the public. The complainant knew that it was a scam and did not provide any information or money to the sender.

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 1000 block of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was pulling into a parking spot when it struck unit 2 which was legally parked. A tow was not required.
  • Retail Theft - Patrol responded to a business in the Richboro Plaza Shopping Center located in the 1000 block of 2nd Street Pike for a retail theft. The individuals left before police arrival. Patrol made contact with employees who reported that two individuals stole items. Information was gathered and through investigation, patrol was able to identify both subjects involved.

September 12

  • Vehicle Lockout - Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 800 block of Bustleton Pike for a vehicle lockout. Once on location, contact was made with the vehicle owner. Using lock-out tools, patrol was able to gain entry.

September 13

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the intersection of Bustleton Pike and Elm Avenue for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling on Elm Avenue and had stopped at the stop sign to turn onto Bustleton Pike. While turning onto Bustleton Pike, unit 1 struck unit 2 which was turning onto Elm Avenue from Bustleton Pike. A tow was not required.

September 14

  • Vehicle Lockout - Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 200 block of Holland Road for a vehicle lockout. Once on location, contact was made with the vehicle owner. Using lockout tools, patrol was able to gain entry.
  • Found Property - Complainant reports finding someone’s property at the Northampton Township Municipal Park located on Hatboro Road. Patrol checked and was able to get into contact with the property owner who later retrieved their items.

September 15

  • Traffic Stop And DUI Arrest - Patrol observed a motor vehicle violation in the area of East Bristol Road and Knowles Avenue. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was identified. Through investigation, the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
