THINK PINK. FIND THE CURE.

Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic School in Holland, PA hosts "PINK OUT" for breast cancer awareness month.

October 21, 2014

Today’s PINK OUT hosted by Saint Katharine Drexel School’s National Junior Honors Society was a smash hit!!! Faculty, staff, students and more joined in raising awareness to find the cure as they celebrated breast cancer awareness month.

After lunch, everyone joined in the celebration by forming the shape of the notorious breast cancer awareness ribbon, to show their dedication and support to those in the community who have had, currently have or know someone who has breast cancer. During their gathering in the school yard, a moment of silence was taken as well as the reciting of a special prayer for those effected by the disease past and present.

Students and the entire SKD School community took thinking pink to a whole new level by pinking out their school uniforms with shirts, socks, pink hairstyles & more!! In addition to dressing the part, they raised $500+ so far for breast cancer research. Donations continue to flow in so It’s not too late to donate to the cause!!! The school will be collecting PINK OUT donations until Friday 10/24/14.

Special thanks for Mrs. Dorneman & the NJHS for facilitating this PINK OUT event. You not only made the day brighter, but you helped us to warmly remember all of those we have lost and those who continue to fight the fight that is breast cancer.
