Valley Stream Inn to be Razed
The landmark restaurant and bar closed after years on being flooded by the Neshaminy Creek.
The wood paneled building has been an icon in the Langhorne section of Northampton Township for more than 50 years, but the Valley Stream Inn will soon to demolished, according to Bucks County Parks and Recreation Department Executive Director Bill Mitchell.
The same valley and the stream that patrons gazed at as they enjoyed dinner, a drink, or Sunday brunch at the iconic restaurant and bar proved to be its downfall. The Valley Stream Inn was closed for good after the Mill Creek stream filled the valley the building is situated in with several feet of water during .
Mitchell’s department is currently working to secure state and local permits so demolition of the former eatery and watering hole can begin, he told Patch Thursday.

Once the inn is demolished and cleanup of the site finished, the county will preserve the nearly 3 acre property as open space, Mitchell said. The lot runs along Bridgetown Pike and Mill Creek.
Bucks County is working to protect the Mill Creek, which runs from New Britain Township and flows to the larger Neshaminy Creek near Playwicki Park.

County commissioners approved the $230,000 federally funded purchase of the Valley Stream Inn lot in early February.
Neighbors say the owner of the inn, prior to the purchase by the county, had been trying to sell the flood-prone property for some years.
Years ago the Valley Stream Inn was the place to go for an enjoyable night out, neighbors all agreed.
In its heyday, the atmosphere on a Friday or Saturday night was “pretty wild,” according to neighbor Bill Lowney.
In recent years the popularity and level of service at the inn decreased. Disappointed customers took to websites, like Yelp.com, to voice their dismay.
As it awaits the demolition crews, the Valley Stream Inn sits with weeds sprouting up through the parking lot, busted chairs strewn about the property and several other rements of the building's former past as a happening resturant and bar spotting the ground along Mill Creek.
