Bus Driver Pleads Guilty in Fatal Crash Case; Accident Occurred by PV Middle School West

The Schwenksville man has yet to be sentenced.

According to a Times Herald report, Frederick Poust III, of Schwenksville, today pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle and recklessly endangering other persons in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in front of on Route 73, Feb. 17, 2010.

Poust was driving a school bus with 45 students aboard when he entered the path of an oncoming Honda as he tried to turn left onto the school's property, according to the Herald report.

The car collided with the school bus, killing 27-year-old Richard Taylor, of Gilbertsville, who was a passenger in the car. The driver, 41-year-old Perkiomenville resident Freddie Carroll, suffered serious injuries. Five students on the bus were treated for minor injuries. (Source)

Poust's sentencing is pending. Authorities say Poust showed "signs of fatigue" prior to the crash, according to the Herald story.
