CHILD LURING UPDATE: Perkiomen Township Case Closed

The Pennsylvania State Police have closed the case of possible child luring in Perkiomen Township - a local man found a dog and was trying to return it to its owner.

The possible child luring incident that occurred on Aug. 30 was actually a man trying to help a lost dog, according to the .

 The State Trooper in charge of the case said a man found a dog on Wartman road with no tags, and he attempted to return the dog to its owner. When he knocked on the door of one home, it was reported to the police as a suspicious person or possible child luring.

“The case is closed, we interviewed [the man in question],” said the State Trooper in charge of the case.  “Several people confirmed the fact that he was going door to door”

According to the police, the man also stopped at a local bus stop, which several witnesses confirmed. He also went to the Animal Medical Center in Trappe to check for an electronic tag before finally dropping the dog off at the SPCA. The man was driving a Ford Fusion.

The State Trooper said that, while the incident occurred on Aug. 30, it was an open case until the Perkiomen Valley School District sent a message to parents regarding the incident, which was reported on Patch.
