Drunken Man Fell Asleep at Red Light, Police Say

A Perkiomenville man allegedly fell asleep while waiting at a light on Skippack Pike at Valley Forge Road.

 

Charges are pending against a Perkiomenville man who allegedly fell asleep at a red light on Skippack Pike who was then arrested for DUI, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Brian Choi, 30, of Perkiomenville, was stopped across the left-turn and the forward-travel lane of Skippack Pike at its intersection with Valley Forge Road while the traffic signal was green, according to police.

Choi was found to be asleep inside the vehicle just before 2:50 a.m. on March 31, and allegedly exhibited signs of being under the influence of alcohol, police said, and was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.

Charges of DUI and related offenses are pending in Magisterial District Court 38-1-24.
