Summertime, and the living is busy ...

Summer officially kicked off on Tuesday! What better way to celebrate everyone’s favorite season than by getting out to some great local activities? We’ve got a selection of community events for you below:

 

1.

Where/When: Community Music School, 775 W. Main St., Collegeville; June 24, 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Why go: The annual spring ensembles concert will feature student chamber groups and the adult jazz ensemble.

Where/When: Peace in Zion United Church of Christ, 204 Big Road, Zieglerville; June 24, 7 to 9 p.m.

Why go: A Silpada Jewelry Party will be held to benefit the church, featuring retiring and new pieces. The event is open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

Pricing: Free admission

 

3.

Where/When: , 757 Spring Mount Road, Schwenksville; June 25

Why go: This memorial 5K race and 1-mile fun run/walk, in honor of Sandy Sellers Copley, a daughter, mother, hairdresser and runner, benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Pricing: $20 registration includes shirt and goodies

Where/When: Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy, 1 Skippack Pike, Schwenksville; June 27 to July 1, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Why go: Explorations and experiments make you the expert on the many habitats making up the watershed. Students take several field trip adventures during the week. For students who have completed fourth through sixth grades.

Pricing: $120 members, $150 nonmembers

 

5.

Where/When: A. C. Moore, 1824 E. Ridge Pike, Royersford; June 29, 3 to 5 p.m.

Why go: A.C. Moore offers free Make & Take arts and crafts activities for children 2 to 12. Salute the Troops and America’s birthday June 29.

Pricing: Free
