Because Earth Day (April 22) falls on the Easter holiday weekend this year, many organizations are observing the day in honor of our planet by hosting celebrations and festivals this weekend instead.

Where/When: Ursinus College, 785 E. Main St., Collegeville; April 14-16 at 7:30 p.m.

Why go: UC Dance Company will perform, featuring new works by guest artists and UC dance faculty.

Pricing: $5 general admission, $2 students/seniors

Where/When: Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, 533 Foundry Road, Norristown; April 16, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why go: The Habitat for Humanity ReStore will host “green” demonstrations, a planting station for kids, recycling bins for televisions and electronics, giveaways, music and refreshments.

Pricing: Free, and the first 600 people receive a free pair of gardening gloves

Where/When: Perkiomen Valley Library, 290 Second St., Schwenksville; April 16, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why go: Find your favorites, in hardcover for $1 each, paperbacks for 50 cents, and children’s books for 25 cents. The Easter Bunny has hidden eggs at the library! Time slots for egg hunting are by age.

Pricing: Free admission

Where/When: Elmwood Park Zoo, 1661 Harding Blvd., Norristown; April 16, 10 a.m.

Why go: The Easter Bunny and some of his animal friends will make an appearance at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, with an educational egg hunt and tasty treats.

Pricing: $15 adults, $20 children; Members get a 10 percent discount

Where/When: , 600 Commerce Drive, Collegeville; April 17, noon to 2 p.m.

Why go: The best-selling mother/daughter duo will sign copies of their latest books.

Pricing: Free with shoppers club card. Pick up tickets at the service desk.
