A great weekend-weather forecast: an autumn preview! Get Out and enjoy it with Patch’s picks for things to do and places to go.

Where/When: St. James Episcopal Church, 3768 Germantown Pike, Collegeville; Sept. 17, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Join the fun with a flea market, craft fair, silent auction, bale sale, raffles, children’s activities and more. Proceeds benefit St. James’ Outreach House.

Where/When: Trappe VFW, 201 W. Third Ave., Trappe; Sept. 17, 9 a.m.

Why Go: The Frank H. Martin III Memorial Car, Truck and Bike Show will be held at Long Horn Football Field to raise money for two local children, Gabby Testa who suffers from cystic fibrosis, and Hannah Mohn, who suffers from Arthryogryposis Multiplex Congenita. The event will feature a DJ, children’s activities, and of course, cars, trucks and bikes. Rain date is Sept. 24.

Pricing: Free admission for spectators, $15 to register vehicle entry

Where/When: , 5 Haldeman Road, Schwenksville; Sept. 17, 10 a.m. to noon

Why Go: Learn about blue birds and build a nest box to attract blue birds to your property. The Mills will supply all necessary materials, just BYO hammer.

Pricing: $5 per nest box

 

4.

Where/When: Floral & Hardy, 4007 Skippack Pike, Skippack; Sept. 17-18, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Get ready for Halloween and make your own scarecrow! Floral and Hardy will provide everything you need. Proceeds benefit Family Services of Montgomery County.

Pricing: $10 per scarecrow

 

5.

Where/When: Peace in Zion United Church of Christ Sept. 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: A blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot for walk-ins. The craft fair, rummage sale and bake sale will be held indoors from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
