Marella Update: No News From Montco Coroner, DA

The toxicology report on Natalie Marella, 26, has not been returned to the Coroner's Office, according to Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Walter Hofman.

"I have no update," said Hofman.

Patch staff has contacted the coroner's office and the district attorney's office several times over the past month, and there has been no news to report.

According to a previous Patch report, New Hanover Police responded to a report that a body was found on Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. near a field at the intersection of Renninger and Little Roads in New Hanover Township.

The property owner, Mark Slater, told 6ABC that there were tire tracks in the field near the location of the body.

Marella's cause of death was not determined by the initial autopsy; Hofman said the cause and manner of death are pending toxicology reports.

Toxicology reports can take an average of six to eight weeks to complete - it has been six weeks since Marella's body was found.

Aside from the pending results, First Assistant District Attorney Kevin R. Steele asked for help from the public to piece together the timeline of how Marella, from Ambler, arrived at that location.

Marella's family told Patch that they believe the authorities are doing their best to determine how she arrived in the field.
