Perkiomen Valley Education Association Accepts Tentative Agreement

Strike was averted two weeks ago.

All of the present Perkiomen Valley Education Association (PVEA) members voted today to accept the tentative agreement that had been reached Feb. 27, said media contact Garreth Heidt.

The school board will vote on the agreement at the 7:30 p.m. meeting at Perkiomen Valley High School. Details have not yet been made public.

Teachers have been working without a contract since Sept. 1, 2010. The union and board have been in negotiations since January 2010, and earlier this year were unable to come to a full agreement concerning the fact-finder's report. The PVEA on Feb. 25 notified the district of their intent to strike if an agreement wasn't reached by Monday evening, Feb. 28.
