Perkiomen Valley Schools Get $12,000 Grant From Lukens Foundation
The Lukens Foundation, named for the two boys who died in a 2017 fire, helps economically disadvantaged students participate in sports.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY, PA — A generous gift to the Perkiomen Valley School District aims to support children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who want to participate in school sports or other activities.
The grant of $12,000 comes from the Lukens Foundation, named for the two young sons of a Montgomery County sheriff's deputy who were killed in a devastating 2017 fire.
In a statement, the school district said that they were "honored" to receive the gift.

The Lukens boys, 11-year-old Bryan Jr. and six-year-old Parker, were both active participants in youth sports around the Collegeville area.
The Lukens Foundation was launched in March 2018 in their honor.
