PSP: Guard Against Burglary

The following announcement comes courtesy of Trooper Morgan Crummy at the Skippack Barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police:

The Pennsylvania State Police, Skippack Barracks would like to remind the community of the following safety tips regarding Residential Burglaries:

Be observant. If you notice suspicious persons, vehicles, and/or activity in your neighborhood, contact the Police immediately.

While you are away, arrange for a neighbor to watch your home for any suspicious activity. 

Keep all doors and windows locked. Keep your garage doors closed and locked.

Be cautious when leaving doors open while working in the yard.

Lock all windows and equip them with one of several devices which limit the height they can be raised. 

Require identification and/or permits of anyone soliciting in the neighborhood. 

Require identification of anyone working inside or outside of your home.
