Rejoice with St. Eleanor Parish

St. Eleanor Church hosted its centennial youth event Saturday.

, in celebration of the parish's 100th anniversary, hosted and sponsored an event for sixth- through eighth-grade students. Entitled "Rejoice 2011," the event is an opportunity for the children to become closer to God, to be happy and energized about themselves.

Attending the event was internationally known Catholic musician, composer and storyteller Steve Angrisano. He is a veteran musician and youth minister who has been a part of numerous events throughout the world, including several National Catholic Youth Conferences. He helps kids to spiritually grow through storytelling and his interactive, fun songs.

The event is a mandatory for all of the students who will be making their Confirmation in the spring of 2012.

Along with guest speaker Angrisano, St. Eleanor also hosted a parade and monument dedication on May 22, a picnic at Dorney Park on June 25, a walk through Trappe Waterworks Park on July 16, a carnival from July 26 through July 30, a historical lecture about their parish on August 13, and will be concluding the centennial events with a commemoration day Mass and dinner on October 16.
