Settlement Reached in St. Eleanor Abuse Case
Vito Granieri, a former IT assistant at the school, pleaded guilty in 2010 to abusing five students

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has reached an out-of-court settlement with the families of five boys who were sexually abused by a former Skippack man while he worked as a school aide at St. Eleanor Parish School in Collegeville.
Vito Granieri was sentenced in October 2010 to six to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, unlawful contact with minors and corruption. He had worked at the school as an information technology assistant.
Neither the archdiocese nor attorney George M. Nikolaou, who represents the families, would disclose the terms of the settlement, according to a report in the Pottstown Mercury.
