Foolish Mortals! Happy Halloween from everyone at Patch!

Hello all. I'm back with your fresh copy of the Philadelphia Daily. Keep reading for the most important things going on in town. Today you'll find news about:
- Six people were shot at Trilogy Nightclub on Spring Garden Street after an argument escalates.
- Not only check your kids' candy but also keep them out of traffic this Halloween.
- Eagles are 7-0, the Union advance to the MLS Cup Finals and the Phila bring WS Game 3 home tonight at Citizen Bank Park.
But first, today's weather:
Cloudy, a shower in the p.m. High: 68 Low: 58.
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Philadelphia who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Philadelphia Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top stories today in Philadelphia:
- Six people, including four women, were shot outside a Philadelphia nightclub early Sunday morning, rounding off a double-digit weekend of gun violence in Philadelphia. Police say the shooting at Trilogy Nightclub on Spring Garden Street in the Northern Liberties neighborhood happened after 3 a.m. when an argument turned violent, and one subject fired a gun at a crowd. (Philadelphia Patch)
- Tonight is Halloween and there's an old witch's tale of razor blades in chocolate bars and LSD laced lollipops that would scare any parent. But the real danger-is traffic accidents with kids being hit by cars on October 31st.(inquirer.com)
- It's good to be a Philly Sports fan. The Eagles beat the Steelers 35-13 and now have an undefeated 7-0 record. The Philadelphia Union won the Eastern Conference last night and now play in the MLS Championship and oh, did we mention that tonight in Philadelphia, the Phillies are at Citizens Bank Park for Game 3 of the World Series! (inquirer.com)
Patch deal of the day:
Good knives make all the difference in the kitchen, but you don't need to overpay for them. Seido Japanese knives are made with strong high-carbon stainless steel (high-carbon knives are more durable and usually more expensive) and have an acute 15-degree angle for a noticeably sharper cutting face (most Western-style knives have edge angles of 25 degrees). For a limited time, Patch readers can get a 5-piece Seido Japanese master knife set for 71 percent off. At just under $70, this chef-quality set is perfect for any home cook and would also make a great gift for the holidays.

Today in Philadelphia:
From my notebook:
- If a guy eats a rotisserie chicken on the Walmart Pier in South Philly and nobody show up, did it even happen? And no, it's not a slow news day here in Philly. Apparently, 5000 people shared this guy's clucky invite because he felt like eating chicken tonight..... (Billy Penn)
- Don't expect a Christmas card from Coach Sirianni. His mom's cousins were in the stands of yesterday's big win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. And these relatives had the brass ones to show up wearing black and yellow and waving the "Terrible Towels". In a postgame press conference, Eagles Coach Nick Sirianni crossed them off the NICE LIST. (Crossing Broad).
- Chef Yun Fuentes, Culinary Director of popular restaurant destination MilkBoy, has unveiled a new line of cheesesteaks at the restaurant, which includes the Phillies' inspired "Red October Cheesesteak". (PhillyVoice.com)
- Philadelphia Parks & Recreation: "What's scarier than Halloween hauntings? Not having enough lifeguards next summer! NOW training! Contact lifeguards@phila.gov to get started. Start watching reruns of "Baywatch" and practice holding your breath in the bathtub! This will be one of your favorite jobs of your life! (Philadelphia Parks & Recreation via Facebook)
