SEPTA awards Shawmont lease (chestnuthilllocal.com) β A long-vacant historic rail station in Northwest Philadelphia is set for new life as the city moves to lease Shawmont Station from SEPTA and sublease it to a local preservation nonprofit. 5. Teens transform vacant Kensington lot from illegal dump site into community garden (audacy.com) β Kensington teens have turned a long-neglected illegal dumping lot at Shelbourne and Willard streets into a small urban forest with pollinator gardens, benches, and art.
