Attempted Murder Charges Coming In Philly Cop Shooting: DA
The DA's office said Maurice Hill may never be a free man after Wednesday's shooting and standoff in Philadelphia's Nicetown section.

PHILADELPHIA — The man accused of shooting six Philadelphia Police officers in an hours-long standoff Wednesday may never be a free man again, according to Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner.
Krasner said Thursday that Maurice Hill, 36, of Philadelphia, will be facing numerous charges in connection with the shooting and standoff that occurred Wednesday and continued into the early hours of Thursday morning in the city's Nicetown section.
Charges have not been filed against Hill as of 12:30 p.m. Thursday. However, Krasner said prosecutors are planning to file charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, firearms violations, and drug crimes.

He said typically charges are filed within a few days of an arrest.
Hill has an extensive criminal background that includes burglary, assault, resisting arrest, firearm violations, perjury, drug crimes, and more.
Krasner said Thursday that Hill should not have been on the streets and called him a "tremendous danger to the public."
