Center City Philadelphia’s Logan Square Rehab & Healthcare Enhances Programming and Clinical Leadership Team

Two new, physician-led specialty care initiatives at Logan Square Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Philadelphia have launched as a direct response to regional healthcare demand. The Center City skilled nursing center now features both RespiraCare pulmonary rehab and OrthoWin, a subacute care offering for orthopedic recovery. Located at 2 Franklin Town Blvd., Logan Square provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.

Aloknath A. Pandya, MD, founder of local pulmonary and sleep consultancy Spiromedics, is leading Logan Square’s RespiraCare pulmoary rehab program. Services aim to reduce pulmonary symptoms, decrease disability, increase participation in physical and social activities, and promote independence and quality of life.

The initiative caters to individuals with a range of diagnoses and conditions. In addition to consults with Dr. Pandya, Logan Square pulmonary patients benefit from the availability of non-invasive ventilation support and 24/7 access to lab and radiology services, with an extensive range of therapy services offered seven days per week.

Logan Square’s OrthoWin program is directed by Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) specialist Luke Musser, MD, of Jefferson Health’s Magee Rehabilitation, with the support of the skilled nursing center’s interdisciplinary care team. OrthoWin accommodates patients recovering from a range of orthopedic surgeries and injuries; it is ideal for those with co-morbidities or without the social support to recover at home independently.

PM&R, also known as Physiatry, focuses on the restoration of health and function with an integrated treatment plan including pain management and physical therapy. OrthoWin’s “whole body” approach features a guided plan, seven-days-per-week therapy services as warranted, coordination with a patient’s surgical team on preferences, and wound care management.
