Charges Filed In Shooting That Led To Hit-And-Run Of 3 Philly Nurses
A 20-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and more in connection with a shootout that led to the nurses being struck.
PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Police said an arrest has been made in connection with the shooting that led to three nurses being struck by a vehicle outside Penn Presbyterian Hospital over the weekend.
Authorities said Humza Mitchell, 20, of Philadelphia, is charged with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, simple assault, firearm violations, and related offenses.
Mitchell, police said, was involved in a shootout on the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue in the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 12.

That shootout led to at least one person being injured. That person, 28 years old, was dropped off at the hospital by Jaadir Goodwyn, 20, who is accused of speeding away from the facility, striking three nurses and the shooting victim in a Jeep Cherokee.
Goodwyn turned himself in to police Wednesdayon charges of aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle, possession of an instrument of crime, recklessly endangering another person, fleeing police, and more.

Police also said a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu pulled into the hospital's ambulance bay behind the Jeep Goodwyn was driving.
That vehicle was driven by an unknown man, who said he was there to check on a shooting victim from 1300 Belmont Avenue.
The Malibu's rear back window was shot out and the driver, who owned the vehicle, was uncooperative with police, authorities said.
The driver was later identified as Mitchell and named as one of the people involved in the shooting on Belmont Avenue.
At the scene of the shooting, police found two separate groupings of fired cartridge casings.
